Peter Handbook
I've been using a list of random things that make it easier to work with me for years. Inspired by Malte Ubl sharing his handbook I wrote down my own version:
Values, Approaches, Principles
- Sharing iterations over long cycles of silence.
- I care deeply about products and the partnership with PO/PM.
- Pragmatic solutions are great; however, sometimes you have to dig in together and take the labor-intensive path.
- A decent playbook will save you from most confusion and disaster during outages or deployments.
- A team that trusts and knows each other can do magic.
Management
- I practice servant leadership. I Support and lead from "behind". I’m here, literally, ping me any time.
- My goal is to help you grow, the direction is defined by you not the company.
- I’m not into micromanagement; tell me if I start doing this.
- You have my full trust; do what feels right and tell me afterward.
- I pass on news as soon as possible.
1on1s
- The 1on1 is your meeting; you set the agenda, I might add topics.
- We start weekly and adjust from there on.
- We can talk projects, but I will aim to cut it short and have a dedicated session.
General
- I have no hidden agenda.
- I value being on time.
- I'm a social person but will also take mental health lunches/breaks on my own.
- I might work/contribute at odd times, this is not what I expect from you.
- Unexpected solutions or theories, shared by me, this is me exploring the problem from other angles, not forcing a solution.
